During the years 2010 to 2014, H2 Power Systems Ltd (Dublin) has financed the development of oxygen permeable ceramic tubes for use in steam at and above 2000°C. The actual development work was done by Creative Service in collaboration with IKTS Hermsdorf. For the development of the filter tubes two tubular high temperature furnaces were built by HTM Reetz GmbH (Berlin). With these furnaces experiments in oxygen and steam atmosphere at temperatures well over 2200°C were performed. The draft paper presented here describes the results and findings for three cubic ceramics materials: stabilized zirconia, ceria-gadolinia, and a stabilized mix of zirconia and ceria.
